Install CoinOPS:
==============================

I. Copy CoinOPS-Legends4-Deck.tar.gz onto Steam Deck

- SSH or a USB drive can be used to transfer the build, whatever you find easiest.

######IMPORTANT!!!!######
- CoinOPS-Legends4-Deck.tar.gz should extracted to "/home/deck" for internal storage, or "/run/media/mmcblk0p1" if installing to SD card
- So your path after extracting should be one of the following:
**Internal Storage:**
/home/deck/CoinOPS-Legends4-Deck/CoinOPS.sh
**SD Card:**
/run/media/mmcblk0p1/CoinOPS-Legends4-Deck/CoinOPS.sh
- Other paths/locations will work if they do not have a space or certain special characters, however the above locations should be used if you are having issues.

II. Unpack it:
Via KDE Desktop File Manager (If CoinOPS-Legends4-Deck.tar.gz was copied directly to the Steam Deck):
- Right click on CoinOPS-Legends4-Deck.tar.gz and choose Extract > Extract archive here

III. Add Steam as a non-steam game
1. Go to Desktop Mode and exit Steam completely
- Right Click the Steam Icon in the bottom right of the screen and click "Exit Steam"
2. Double-click on AddToSteam.sh
- A console window will appear
- The output in the console window will say "Shortcut Has Been Created!!" if it is successful

OR- If the AddToSteam.sh script mentioned above does not work for some reason, the below steps can be used to add CoinOPS to Steam manually:

1. Right Click on CoinOPS-Legends4.sh and select Add to Steam from the menu.
2. Open Steam in desktop mode
3. Right click on CoinOPS-Legends4.sh in your steam library and click Properties...
4. Change name from CoinOPS-Legends4.sh to CoinOPS Legends 4
5. (optional) Right-click on the empty square to the left of the shortcut name to change icon (icon in Steam-Artwork folder)
6. Close Properties window
7. (optional) Add rest of artwork in Steam-Artwork folder to Steam
8. Return to steam deck gaming mode and launch CoinOPS Legends 4

FAQ:

I. CoinOPS Legends 4 for Steam Deck does not start after installation:
- The most common issue is a space in the full path to CoinOPS.sh.
- The build should be extracted to "/home/deck" for internal storage, and "/run/media/mmcblk0p1" if installing to SD card. So your path to CoinOPS.sh should be one of the following after adding it to steam:

**Internal Storage:**
/home/deck/CoinOPS-Legends4-Deck/CoinOPS.sh
**SD Card:**
/run/media/mmcblk0p1/CoinOPS-Legends4-Deck/CoinOPS.sh

- Other paths/locations will work if they do not have a space or certain special characters, however the above locations should be used if you are having issues.

II. Change controls for a game in MAME (Must be in Gaming Mode!):

1. Press both thumbsticks (L3 + R3)
2. Go to "This Games Controls"
3. Map the controls how you want
4. Use "Select/back + Start/Menu" Button combination to back out of the menus
5. Go to emulators/mame/cfg directory and sort by date modified.
6. Copy the modified files to emulators/mame/cfgbackup before starting CoinOPS again and you won뭪 lose your changes.
You can do this via ssh with a program like filezilla or winscp.

II. Audio pops or crackles, or game is not running at the correct speed

Disable the framerate limit:
1. Press the Quick Access (...) button under the right track pad
2. Navigate to the performance section
3. Enable "use per-game profile"
4. Change the "Framerate Limit" to "OFF"

Uninstall CoinOPS Legends 4:

I. Delete CoinOPS Legends 4 from Steam in desktop mode.

II. Delete the CoinOPS-Legends4-Deck directory
